Escalade IQ Trims Explained: 4 Versions, Realty

Cadillac Escalade IQ Trims Explained: Which One Is Worth Buying?

Short answer: The 2026 Escalade IQ comes in four trims: Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury and Premium Sport. Luxury and Sport are the base pair. The two Premium trims cost about $20,000 more and add the fancy comfort and tech. Between a Luxury and a Sport, the difference is mostly looks.

If you’ve been reading about the Escalade IQ trims and feeling like every site says the same thing in different words, I get it. I went through dealer pages, Cadillac’s own site and a few review sites, and I’m putting it all in one place here, in plain language.

One thing before we start. Prices below are US prices, and they change slightly from source to source. Some include the destination charge and some don’t, so check Cadillac’s official site before you quote anything. As far as I know the Escalade IQ isn’t officially sold in India, so this is a “know your options” post for now.

What are the Escalade IQ trims and how much do they cost?

The same four names show up everywhere. Here are the starting prices as listed by one Cadillac dealer.

Trim Starting price (US)
Luxury $127,405
Sport $127,905
Premium Luxury $147,705
Premium Sport $148,205

Look at the jump between Sport and Premium Luxury. It’s a gap of about $20,000. Hardly any other car trims make you think that hard about one step up.

Other sites show slightly higher numbers. For example, GM Authority lists launch prices of $129,795 for Luxury and $150,095 for Premium Luxury. Don’t panic if you see different figures. It’s mostly the destination charge being counted or not.

What’s the difference between Escalade IQ Luxury and Sport?

This is the question I’d expect most people to search, and the answer is simple. Nothing under the skin changes. The Sport is mechanically identical to the Luxury and is aimed at buyers who want a bolder road presence.

So what changes is the styling. The Luxury leans on brushed aluminum body trim, while the Sport uses darkened metallic finishes. Think chrome-ish and classy versus blacked-out and aggressive.

You pay roughly $500 extra for the Sport, so this really comes down to taste. [Add your own line here: which look you’d pick and why]

What do you get in the base Luxury trim?

Don’t think of the base trim as a stripped-down car. At $127K nobody expects that, and Cadillac doesn’t deliver it. A dealer’s trim page describes the Luxury (on the longer IQL, same idea) as coming with heated and ventilated front seats, a 55-inch interior display and hands-free highway driving support.

That 55-inch screen is the headline feature inside, and it’s there from the first trim. The hands-free highway driving is Cadillac’s Super Cruise system. Remember that it works on mapped highways and still needs you paying attention.

On the power side, KBB lists a 200 kWh battery and 750 hp for the IQ. For charging, Cadillac says you can add up to 117 miles of range in about 10 minutes on a fast charger, and Luxury and Sport come with 11.5 kW Level 2 AC charging as standard.

Is the Premium Luxury trim worth the extra money?

Here’s where I’d slow down. For roughly $20,000 more, the Premium trims bring the stuff that makes it feel like a proper flagship. The top Premium Sport adds massaging seats, soft-closing doors and an AKG Studio Reference sound system. Cadillac’s own description of the Premium Sport says it gives you the full Premium Luxury feature set with the styling of the Sport line.

So the Premium Sport is basically the Premium Luxury in black-trim clothes, the same way Sport is to Luxury.

My honest take: if you’re cross-shopping this against other luxury EVs and you value things like massaging seats and a better sound system, the Premium makes sense. If you mainly want the big screen, the electric drivetrain and the Escalade name, the base trims already do most of the job.

What options can push the price even higher?

This is the part that surprises people. The sticker is only the beginning.

  • The Executive Second Row Seating Package costs $7,500 and is only for the Premium Luxury and Premium Sport trims.
  • The Radiant Package is $4,750 and is available on Luxury and Premium Luxury.
  • Special paint like Magnus Metal Frost is $5,925.

Add a few of these and the price climbs fast. One review site noted that the Escalade IQ starts at $127,405 and goes above $170,000 with options, so it’s hard to call it a value. I wouldn’t argue with that. It’s a luxury purchase, and you should go in knowing it.

Escalade IQ vs IQL: which one should you pick?

The IQL is the longer version, and the price gap is small. The IQL starts at $130,405 compared to $127,405 for the IQ. So you’re paying about $3,000 for the extra length.

What do you get for that? The IQL has 36.7 inches of third-row legroom and up to 125.2 cubic feet of cargo space, while the IQ has 32.3 inches of legroom and 119.1 cubic feet of cargo. Also, Cadillac estimates up to 460 miles of range on the IQL.

If anyone in your family is going to sit in the third row regularly, I’d say pay the extra for the IQL. Four inches of legroom is a real difference when you’re on a long drive. If the third row is only for the odd emergency, the regular IQ is fine.

So which Escalade IQ trim should you choose?

Here’s how I’d think about it, without overcomplicating things.

  • Want the biggest feature set for the money? Go for the Luxury. It already has the 55-inch screen, ventilated seats and Super Cruise.
  • Want the darker, aggressive look? Take the Sport for about $500 more. Same car underneath.
  • Want chauffeur-style comfort? Look at the Premium Luxury or Premium Sport, and think about the Executive Second Row package.
  • Have a big family? Check the IQL before deciding on any trim.

Before you decide, test drive it if you can, and ask the dealer for the full on-road price in writing. Final figures can change with taxes, fees and options.
